About Us

The Wilson County Tourism Development Authority is funded completely by the NC hotelier tax. We collect over $1.25 million annually and use that revenue in a variety of ways to encourage people to visit Wilson. We give a percentage of these funds to the City of Wilson to help fund sports tourism, and we give out over $300,000 each year in grants to events, museums, local businesses, and other entities to be used in various ways to stimulate tourism. We also oversee the Wilson Events Calendar, social media marketing, the Come See Wilson app, visitor guides, and digital and print marketing campaigns promoting Wilson as the tourist destination that it has become.
