Hispanic Heritage Festival

Wilson’s Hispanic Heritage Festival is coming to Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park on Sunday, October 18, bringing an afternoon of culture, food, music, and community to Downtown Wilson.

Hosted by the Wilson Police Department, the 2026 festival will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. and is free to attend. Visitors can enjoy live music from Directo Norteño, plus DJ Speedy and DJ Armando, along with Hispanic heritage, culture, and art; food trucks; children’s activities; a parade of flags; raffles; and vendors throughout the event.

The festival offers an opportunity to experience and celebrate the traditions and cultural contributions of Wilson’s Hispanic community while enjoying time outdoors with family and friends. Whether you come for the music, a bite from a food truck, or simply to explore the festival and its vendors, there are plenty of reasons to spend part of your Sunday in Downtown Wilson.

Wilson County Tourism Development Authority Director Brandt Harrell will also speak during the festival about the many things Wilson has to offer its Hispanic community. His remarks will include information about the ComeSeeWilson app and website, which make it easy to discover events, attractions, restaurants and other things happening throughout Wilson County. For visitors who want to continue exploring after the festival, ComeSeeWilson provides a way to see what else is happening around the county and find opportunities to experience more of the local community.

The Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park is a familiar landmark in Wilson and a great place to spend an afternoon while exploring Downtown. Stop by the festival, take in the park’s distinctive public folk art, and make time to discover what else downtown has to offer.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 18, and come experience this community celebration for yourself. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to join in the festivities.
