2025 Veterans Day Ceremony

Join the Wilson Committee on Patriotism for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony honoring all who have served. This year’s guest speaker is Theresa Mathis from the City of Wilson’s Human Relations Office.

The ceremony will include performances by the New Hope Elementary School Chorus, directed by Sara Bennington, and the National Anthem sung by Tynia Pender of the Wilson Chapel FWBC Youth Choir. The Junior ROTCs from Beddingfield, Hunt, and Fike high schools will participate in the flag ceremonies. Additional highlights include a welcome from Councilmember Logan Liles, a POW/MIA remembrance, wreath placement in honor of Wilson County’s fallen service members, and prayers from Chaplain James A. Faison. The event will conclude with a 21-gun salute and the playing of “Taps.”

Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to stay for a free hot dog lunch — tickets will be distributed at the event.
The ceremony will take place in the plaza in front of the Wilson County Courthouse. In the case of rain, the ceremony will move to City Hall council chambers.
