Opening Reception: ‘RAYS OF VIOLET’

Barton Art Galleries invites the campus and surrounding community to the opening reception for RAYS OF VIOLET, an exhibition featuring works by Fall 2026 Artist-in-Residence Zach Horn.

The reception will be held from 5–7 p.m. in the Barton Art Galleries at Case Art, with a gallery talk by the artist at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

An interdisciplinary artist working across painting, installation, and animation, Horn has exhibited extensively throughout the United States and internationally. His work has been featured in museums, galleries, and academic institutions, including exhibitions in Finland, South Korea, New York City, and throughout New England. Horn earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MFA from Boston University and currently serves as a senior lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

As Barton College’s Fall 2026 Artist-in-Residence, Horn will work with students and community members from August 24 through September 5, sharing his creative practice through educational programming and hands-on workshops. Community workshops are $50 per person and are free for Friends of Visual Arts (FOVA) members.

RAYS OF VIOLET will be on view in the Barton Art Galleries at Case Art from August 24 through September 30.
