WhirliDogs Café
The WhirliDogs Cafe & Training Center showcases The Power of Possibility for folks with special needs and disabilities through valuable paid work experience and training opportunities. This cafe and training center specializes in “Out-of-the-Box” hotdogs, homemade soups, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, amazing sides, salad options, and ice cream creations. Named WhirliDogs as a nod to the town’s centerpiece attraction, the Whirligig Park, WhirliDogs opened in 2024 with a mission of training adults with disabilities to decrease the unemployment rates of persons living with disabilities while filling the void of available trained and experienced hospitality workers to Wilson and surrounding areas. WhirliDogs aims to provide hope to families by demonstrating there is a place of belonging in the local workforce for their family members with disabilities.
Stop by on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday through Sunday from 11am-3pm, for an “Almost Famous” all beef hot dog or a “Grown Up” grilled cheese. You won’t regret it! On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays when the Wilson Warbirds have home games, WhirliDogs will stay open until 6:30pm.
