Wiggins Mill
Wiggins Mill Reservoir is a wonderland for small boats to explore. It has 285 acres of water, much of it in alcoves that can be explored by kayaks, canoes, or boats powered by electric motors. There are also areas for ramp or shore fishing and many people catch bream, bluegill, catfish, and bass from the shore or docks near the dam near U.S. 301. If you want to go out on the water, nonpowered boats and those with electric motors are allowed. The best times for fishing are reportedly mid to late afternoon. Wiggins Mill also has picnic shelters, trails, spectacular views, and is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
